Eating out:

The hungry traveller can choose from a wide choice of eateries. In this city, you’ll find all kinds of food from all corners of the world. Most restaurants offer Hungarian as well as international dishes.

If you want a good selection of restaurants then confine yourself to Vaci utca, which is the main pedestrian zone in Budapest and Raday utca, a trendy street near Petofi Bridge. Both these streets are filled with cafes and restaurants.

Nightlife:

The city really comes alive after the sun sets with a host of bars and nightclubs. If you need some lively entertainment find a salsa bar, or if you feel like something more relaxing and laid back after a long day, visit one of Budapest’s many jazz clubs.

There are plenty of casinos in the city, for those of you who want to try your luck at some gambling. Budapest also has one of Europe’s finest Opera houses and lots of theatres and concert halls.

Shopping:

Budapest is quite a good place to shop, especially if you love markets, as the city has numerous markets from flea markets to food markets.

The pedestrianised street, Vaci utca, is the main shopping street and also most of the streets bisecting it are shopping streets. Another popular shopping district is Castle District in Buda, which is home to expensive boutiques and art galleries.

If you are stuck for time and prefer to shop under one roof, then head for West End Shopping Centre, which is close to the city’s Western railway station. It’s the newest and biggest shopping mall in Budapest with over 400 shops!
