If you are travelling to Budapest from the European mainland, then your best option is to travel by train. The train is relatively inexpensive and is very efficient with trains running regularly from many different parts of Europe. Most international trains arrive and leave from Keleti Station and this is just one of three major terminal stations in Budapest.

For visitors travelling from overseas, a flight into Ferihegy Airport is the best way to go. This small international airport is served by many popular airlines like Northwest, Hungarian Airlines, British Airways and Delta. Ferihegy is the only airport serving Budapest and is located about 16km southeast of the city centre.
