This well known castle is one of Budapest’s most famous attractions and can be found in the City Park.
The famous castle was built between 1896 and 1908 under Ignac Alpar’s design. This popular attraction was first built from wood and cardboard but became so popular with the locals and tourists that it was then rebuilt from brick and stone to make it a more permanent structure.
A gothic gate gives you access to the castle court where you’ll find The Statue of Anonymous and various Romanesque structures can be found to the left of this. I think it’s the castles wide variety of architectural styles, which make the castle so unique.
The Castle today now houses the Hungarian Agricultural Musuem where one can gain a valuable insight into Hungarian forestry, fishing and its wine industry.
