Vorosmarty Square

Vorosmarty Square, which is located in the centre of Budapest, is named after Hungarys much loved poet, Mihály Vörösmarty. To symbolize this, a large statue of the famous man, can be found in the center of the Square.

Due to its central location, it is easily reached from most parts of Budapest – in fact its probably the best place to base yourself if you want to visit all the city’s tops sites. The square, which is surrounded by pedestrian lanes, is home to the famous Gerbeaud Café, which is to the north of the square. Why not take a break from your site seeing and shopping here, as its mouth watering pastries are to die for!

On the opposite side of the square, you’ll find the concert hall, which hosts many important concerts and events. The sqaure is always busy and its bursting at the seems with expensive cafes, restaurants, airline offices, shopping stores and excellent antique shops.
